It is an eccentric type retaining ring generally used. A ring-shaped retaining ring that is grooved into the hole (shaft) so that the counterpart such as the bearing does not come out in the thrust direction (parallel to the shaft). In general, the snap ring is compressed (expanded) with the special pliers and inserted. (By inserting with a taper jig, permanent deformation becomes small.)
